Ray White Whangaparaoa held a Landlord Information evening on Wednesday 14 November at the Rotary Club in Silverdale. The evening was a resounding success with an attendance of about 50 people including 25 private landlords.
Gary Brown, owner of Ray White Whangaparaoa, spoke on retirement income planning and property investment strategies. Gary organises regular Landlord Information evenings “because they are an excellent way of reaching those members of our local community who are managing their own properties, may be thinking of purchasing an investment property or may need more information on the whole concept of investment property management.”
The guest speaker was Troy Churton, National Industry Advisor and Liaison from the Building and Housing Group, Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment. Troy gave a summary of the most important aspects of the Residential Tenancies Act for landlords and lead discussions on current issues such as water rates and the switch to digital television and its impact on tenancies. Landlords appreciated the direct Q&A opportunity with Troy to get clarification on particular issues they are facing.
Scott Charlesworth from Loan Market was on hand to give advice to potential investors.
Ben Thomson, Property Management Performance Manager for Ray White NZ, said “Gary and his team put on a very professional and informative evening. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, and landlords appreciate access to current industry information in a neutral location with no hard sell tactics. Landlord Information evenings are a great resource Ray White offices can provide to the local community.”
