We recently sold our home in St John’s Park using Steen Nielsen as our sole agent.

Before deciding to use Steen, we went through a detailed process of interviewing a number of real estate agents.  At the first meeting, Steen impressed us with a clear explanation of the process we would experience when selling our home.  He had researched the local market and was able to give us examples of recent sales and a price range that we should expect.  This level of communication and professionalism continued throughout the time we worked with Steen.

Steen gave us a lot of very valuable advice to maximise the sale price of our home.  This advice included what improvements we should make to the property before putting it on the market, what advertising would work best and what staging company to use.  On top of this, Steen obtained an incredible advertising package for us that gave our home wonderful exposure at a level that ultimately put us in a much higher price bracket than we had expected.  This included getting the NZ Herald to interview us for one of their real estate articles.

After each open home, Steen called us with an update and once a week we met to go through a detailed written report.  This was very helpful in understanding how our property was being assessed by the market.  In this process, we also understood how much effort Steen put in developing relationships with potential buyers and encouraging them to attend the auction – and bid!

Over the weeks leading up to the auction, it was at times difficult to keep calm but we knew that we had to trust Steen to do his job.  In the end, we were totally delighted that we did.  We would strongly recommend Steen to anyone contemplating selling their home.
