Ray White Whangamata Holds 5th Charity Golf Tournament

For the fifth year in a row, the sales team at Ray Whangamata ran another successful charity golf tournament on a stellar sunny day. Over the last five tournaments, Ray White Whangamata have raised a cumulative amount of $57,800 for Ronald McDonald House Charities and $10,000 for St John Ambulance Service in the local region.

The popular annual charity golf tournament is always held on the Friday of Labour weekend at the Whangamata Titoki golf course. Ray White Whangamata licensee salesperson Mike Jeffcoat, is the lead event organiser and the Ray White Whangamata sales team work hard on making sure food and drinks are provided to golfers in and around the golf course throughout the day.

The tournament had approximately 100 golfers participating in an Ambrose format with the main objective to have fun and support the two charities. Whilst the golfers are moving from hole to hole, the Ray White team are close behind on the golf cart with BBQ food and a selection of refreshments, many of which are donated by loyal sponsors of the event.

The day culminates in a raffle draw, auction and prizegiving. The support and generosity of local businesses and businesses outside of the region (some of which support the event year after year) always exceeds expectation. There were a wide variety of auction items and just some of these included a round of golf for two at the world acclaimed Tara Iti Golf Course, dinner at the renowned French Cafe and several signed sporting shirts including one from Lydia Ko.

Steve and Trish Morrison, business owners of Ray White Whangamata said, “we are proud to be part of a team event that has consistently delivered a great result for charity and the feedback from the golfers is fantastic, many of whom have rebooked for next year”.

Steve and Trish were delighted to present Ronald McDonald House with a cheque of $16,000. Claire Cadwallader from Ronald McDonald House said, “we couldn’t provide the service we do without supporters like Ray White Whangamata, whose generosity continues to play an integral part in helping Ronald McDonald House be there for every Kiwi family who needs us”.

A cheque for $2,000 was presented to St John Ambulance, Whangamata.

The team at Ray White Whangamata were overwhelmed at the response and recognition from this event, they have already started planning the next event in 2018.
