Waiheke residents and visitors to the island on the weekend of the 16th will be among the first people able to enter a fundraising promotion being run by the Auckland Rescue Helicopter Trust.
The fundrasing Day hosted by business owner Matthew Smith of Ray White Waiheke from 11am to 4pm on Saturday will also introduce a promotion that the Trust claims is “the experience of a lifetime”.
By purchasing an ARHT cap for $25 and entering into a draw, come October two lucky supporters will be sitting in a corporate box at Eden Park, being wined and dined at the world’s biggest rugby event– and we don’t have to tell you what that is!
The lucky winners will also be flown by helicopter from Auckland to Waiheke (or if they live on Waiheke, from the island to Auckland) for a gourmet lunch at an undisclosed location, and will receive heaps of branded merchandise including miniature helicopters, fluffy ARHT Bears and ARHT branded clothing to keep them warm in case it’s cold at Eden Park.
A special guest will be visiting Waiheke on Saturday to launch the promotion – Paddy Neville, an ARHT fundraiser, who is starring in a series of videos which will be available on facebook.com/Paddysgotthetickets or through the Trusts website, www.rescuehelicopter.org.nz. Paddy put himself through hell to film the videos, which include him jumping out of the ARHT helicopter into the freezing water, having a full body makeover and experiencing the joys of an Eden Park corporate box himself, so he can report to supporters exactly what the experience is like.
