Diane and Jo Voordouw have been part of the Ray White Group for many years, opening their Te Atatu office in 2000 and commencing property management two years later. This came about through a mixture of selling investment properties then offering high quality service to landlords by managing their investment properties. Ray White Te Atatu now take care of mostly residential properties from Kumeu to Point England, specialising in the Waitakere City, sometimes branching further out where a long term relationship exists with the landlord.
The Waitakere area is an affordable area to invest compared with other parts of Auckland, due to lower house prices, good capital gain and better return on investment. Inner city suburbs are traditionally very expensive for renters and as the media has recently reported, rental prices are rising. Natalie McKeowan, Manager of the Property Management department of Ray White Te Atatu says that “Whilst rental prices rise in the central suburbs, West Auckland remains fairly steady making it an attractive place for renters, enabling us to get good tenants easily, particularly around areas near to public transport, especially the rail line.”
Natalie employs six property managers within her division as well as a Business Development Manager. On the 19th November, Ray White Te Atatu held their 3rd Annual Landlord Appreciation Function at the Lincoln Green Conference Centre. The cocktail style evening event is held to thank Landlords for their business over the year with this being the first time where preferred providers were invited to set up stalls around the room, offering Landlords an opportunity to speak directly with experts and obtain more detailed advice about their properties in a non-pressure environment. Supplier attendees included Diane Nelson from REAL Landlord Insurance, Miles Stratford from MethMinder and Meth Solutions, Gopal Sreenivasan from Loan Market, Jessica Glenn and Susan Goddard from Ray White Connect and Jarrod Walton and Karl Dickins from Chapmans Chartered Accountants.
Diane Voordouw commented that “The evening went really well with great feedback from the landlords. Many had attended especially to speak with suppliers. The providers were happy with the contact that they had with the landlords and there was a good atmosphere.”
