Ray White New Zealand sales for September 2014 decreased by 13% from the same period last year but increased by 9% from last month, being August 2014. The Group completed 991 sales transactions at an average sale price of just over $500,000. The number of controlled listings increased to 1,167 for residential properties only.

Carey Smith, Chief Executive of Ray White New Zealand, said the September results in isolation held up well given the election and the election campaigning period, which at times was uncertain, throughout the month of September. “While there was less property sales during the first three weeks of September and a reluctance from clients to list their properties; this has quickly turned around, with the market seeing higher than average activity during the past week in the area of both listings and sales. It is expected there will be a continued lift in activity with a lot more properties coming to the market currently and this is expected to also have additional interest right across New Zealand.”

Individually our leading businesses across New Zealand were headlined by Ray White Remuera. Ray White Ponsonby were the number two office, with Ray White City Apartments being the number three office. Ray White Metro in Christchurch were number four, with Ray White Ellerslie being number five for the Group.

In Auckland the Central Zone completed over $280 million and was the market that was seen to be the most polarising in respect to the return of activity after the election. The majority of other zones traded down on the previous year. The top offices throughout the regions included Ray White Whangarei in Northland, Ray White Hamilton in the Central North Island, Ray White Wanganui in the Lower North Island. While Ray White Richmond in the Upper South Island, Ray White Metro in Canterbury and Ray White Dunedin in the Lower South Island were the leading businesses in their respective zones.

The Ray White Group held a number of campaigns for their clients over the month of September. This included a marketing upgrade package, which was the most successful the company has undertaken. The Group also had close to 5,000 people attend open homes over the election weekend and this was part of the iPad giveaway, winners for which are due to be announced at the close of business this Friday.

The Group has welcomed a further new office at Sunnynook on the North Shore of Auckland. In Christchurch, Ray White Papanui is due to open soon. Further offices are also planned in Central Auckland for opening during October.
