A unique and historic lakefront residential development site – situated next to the Kawarau Village in Frankton – will be released to market on-site this weekend (March 15 and 16).Lake’s Edge is being brought to market by Ray White Queenstown and the open-for-inspection weekend will be the first opportunity the public will have to view in-depth plans for the sought-after area. The company unveiled the development at ‘The 19th’ area of the NZ Open a couple of weeks ago with “great interest”. Marketed as “Queenstown’s best lakefront development”, Lake’s Edge is positioned in an idyllic location close to Queenstown and is the only subdivision of its kind currently available.
Ray White Queenstown salesperson Cameron Reed said there was nowhere in the area that had “such amazing views and location”.”Opportunities to own and build on sections as unique as Lake’s Edge simply don’t exist. It’s an incredible piece of land,” said Mr Reed.”From the absolute lakefront sections to the elevated sites with stunning views, each offers that something extra special, with design guidelines that will protect the views from all sections.””This is an outstanding opportunity to own a slice of Queenstown paradise,” he said.”The feedback we had during the NZ Open was fantastic and people are excited to get on-site and gather more information about the development.”
Situated within the Kawarau Village, and once part of the expansive Kawarau Falls Station, Lake’s Edge is steeped in history and is the former site of Queenstown founder William Rees’s home, making it an important part of the area’s heritage.
The development site affords amazing views of the clear waters of Lake Wakatipu, the slopes of Coronet Peak, the towering Remarkables Mountain range, the historic Kawarau River, Skyline, Crown Range, Ben Lomond and – from the higher sections – as far away as Arrowtown.
The extremely sunny sites are positioned within the popular Kawarau Village and the array of shops, cafes and restaurants on site and are within easy access to the Queenstown Trail which winds its way along the bottom of the site alongside the lake’s edge.
The Remarkables ski field access road, Queenstown International Airport and Remarkables Park Town shopping centre are all less than five minutes’ drive away and Queenstown’s CBD just 10 minutes’ drive. The sites, which range in size from 515sq m to 1,047sq m, are priced from $500,000. The open day takes place from midday on Saturday and Sunday March 15 and 16. All services will be installed to the boundaries and design covenants will be in place to protect the views of all the development and maximise the natural surroundings. Titles are expected to be issued in 2015.
