Giving back to the community is a common theme for Ray White New Zealand offices. This is no different for Ray White Pukehina. When their local community school was going to close because it didn’t have enough pupils, Rochelle Carter and her husband Neil joint forces to prevent this from happening. By purchasing a van, sponsored by Ray White Pukehina and Warehouse Cars Ltd, to enable principal Roger Reid to transport his students to and from school.

Roger is the teacher, bus driver, handyman and principal of Pukehina School. “The van has made a huge difference to us. It has allowed us to transport students to social and sporting fixtures as well as enabling us to pick up new enrolments…Our job descriptions change almost every day, but that is the beauty of it – we all work together,” said Roger.

The van enabled school number to increase from 8 to 18 within one week which has eased the pressure and allowed them to remain open.

Community involvement is a priority for Ray White Pukehina, “Ray White is one big family, together we like to give back. We are privileged to be part of this community.’’ said Rochelle Carter.

Farah Jacobs, Regional Manager for Ray White New Zealand, said, “Rochelle Carter gives so much to her community, thank you to her for truly embodying Ray White New Zealand’s values”.
