Ray White New Zealand welcomes new leader in Nelson Region

The Ray White Group has just welcomed Mark Rumsey to the family as the new business owner, principal and licensed agent for Ray White Nelson, Richmond and Motueka in the beautiful Upper South Island.

A business owner for the last decade, Mr Rumsey said he was excited about his next chapter, heading up not one but three Ray White businesses in the lush region facing Tasman Bay. The stunning region is well known for its vineyards, plus local craft and art galleries.

Mr Rumsey’s newly formed combined team are an incredible group of more than 40 dedicated, family oriented, professional and experienced sales operators, property managers and administrators.

“I have a lot of experience in the real estate sector plus in the corporate world, which I know will further enhance what the Ray White team delivers to the wider Nelson, Tasman region,” Mr Rumsey said.

“The resources available to us from the Ray White Group have helped us form such a solid foundation from which each of us do the very best for our clients.

“Ray White’s market intelligence, software, ambition, determination and corporate strategy are all second to none.”

Ray White New Zealand CEO Carey Smith was delighted to welcome Mark Rumsey to the ever-expanding network now up to 171 businesses across the country.

“We are lucky enough to work in the people business, not the property business and Mark has such wonderful leadership qualities. We are relentless in our pursuit in leaders in all markets and everyone on the Ray White New Zealand team will support Mark and his ambitions for the future.”

In an example of a stylish transition, Mr Smith said it was great to see Alan Atkins, who previously owned Ray White Motueka staying on as a leading salesperson.

In Richmond, previous business owner Brent Sturm will also be continuing on as an experienced Elite salesperson and his business partner Christine Cook has now retired.

This pair co-owned Ray White Nelson Office with Grant Chaney who would also stay on as an Elite salesperson to continue to serve his community.

When we are not in meetings with the team, Mr Rumsey seeks to attain the ever sought-after lifestyle balance.

His happiest times are spent with close friends and family on or near the water; a passion he has long enjoyed.

Having completed university in New Zealand, he spent a decade cutting his teeth in corporate business in the UK.

His experience there was working for various multinational companies from board level representation to running large teams and ensuring corporate strategies were delivered on time and on budget.

But once he moved back to New Zealand and into real estate, he never looked back.
