The team from Ray White Nelson is giving back to the community by getting involved and giving out awards to the Hampden Street School children for their successful garden competition. This is a annual project and the team at Nelson will be supporting this project again next year.
Marc Steyn was included in the judging panel this year and is photographed below handing out the the prizes to the children. The project is run by the principal, Don Mclean, and the gardens are judged for creativity and edibility. This project also included constructing a “Project Journal” which included the children’s photographs of the garden in the various stages – before, during and after the gardens were completed. These gardens are at each of the participant’s houses.
Marc commented “After a 20 year association with the school, it’s a great feeling to give something back.” The Ray White Nelson office provided garden vouchers for the prizes to encourage the children to continue working in their gardens.
