Ray White Mangere Bridge were recently one of the 78 Ray White New Zealand offices involved in the Ronald McDonald House Street Appeal collection.
The Street Appeal aimed to raise awareness and funds for Ronald McDonald House, who supply support and accommodation to the families of seriously ill children who are receiving care in hospitals away from home around the country. Currently operating four houses across Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch, RMH help thousands of Kiwi families every year.
As part of their involvement in the Street Appeal Jared Cooksley and Jared Hards of Ray White Mangere Bridge went to the local Mangere Bridge Primary School for their support, organising a mufti day where kids were asked to wear red in support of the Street Appeal for a coin donation.
Jared Cooksley said “It was fantastic to reconnect with my old primary school and get the community involved in the Street Appeal, we wanted to expand on our street collection and get the local kids involved. We came up with the idea of Wearing Red for a coin donation. The uptake was instant, raising over $400! ”
Jared Hards, who has recently purchased a house in the Mangere Bridge area himself, said “My wife and newborn absolutely love it here and having the local primary school on board and supporting us with our collection has been incredible.”
The school itself was more than happy to get involved, school principal Brendon Clarkin saying “Being the Ronald McDonald House Charity it makes it easy for the kids to identify with and give back to those in need. They absolutely loved it!”
Ronald McDonald House were extremely appreciative of everyone’s efforts on the day, “Ray White’s support is integral to the success of our National Street Appeal – and we can’t thank them enough for braving the elements on the cold winters day, to help keep Kiwi families together throughout their child’s medical journey.
