Pink Ribbon High Tea and Bubbles

RW Waiheke PRB

Ray White Waiheke hosted a Pink Ribbon High Tea and Bubbles event at their office in Oneroa raising $3,000 for The New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation. As a result of this event being extremely successful, it has already been decided to be repeated next year.

The High Tea and Bubbles attracted approximately 40-50 pink ladies and a healthy handful of ‘pink’ men who created a great spirit for the occasion. A beautiful spread of assorted sweet and savoury delights, ranging from pink frosted cupcakes to little-smoked salmon and sour cream hearts, accompanied with Pink Champagne and Fig and Rose Tea were all lovingly catered by the Ray White ladies.

An inspirational talk by guest speaker Karin Horen, captivated by everyone listening to her story upon discovering she had breast cancer at only 26. Getting on with her life she met her partner and became a Mum to three little girls only then to be diagnosed again with breast cancer at the age of 40. Three years on, she is the founder of Paddle For Hope, a charity helping cancer survivors to rehabilitate in the sun and on the water. Some of the guests and the girls at Ray White Waiheke are keen to host a Paddle For Hope event on the Island sometime in the near future.

A variety of raffles and a live auction was made possible by the generous contribution of Waiheke and Auckland small businesses. There were 17 very happy winners with the main prize of a trip to Great Barrier including two nights accommodation and flights. The top bid for this prize was an incredible $1,000.00 – congratulations to Andrew Smith.

Ray White Salesperson, Wendy Lumley, said, ‘The Ray White team would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to all those that contributed to the achievement of the event. Everyone had a wonderful afternoon and many commented on what a great cause it was to support and also expressed a genuine interest in being involved next year, so of course we will be hosting another one in 2017!’
