A recent Ray White Paraparaumu social function has prompted an excellent fundraiser for Ronald McDonald House Wellington. The Ray White Paraparaumu team gathered on Tuesday 26th November for a luncheon, followed by a dynamic, fun and interactive hands on cooking experience at Social Cooking Wellington. The event was enjoyed by all and there were many jokes made about the head chef Aaron Oatley’s impressive beard, which he had been growing for nine months. This lead to the suggestion that Aaron should shave his beard to raise money for Ronald McDonald House.
Ronald McDonald House is a home away from home for families of sick children at Wellington Hospital. It is an organisation strongly supported by Rachael Steinmetz, the principle at Ray White Paraparaumu, who provides sponsorship through regular donations and along with her team collects gifts for families staying at the house. The opportunity to work alongside the Social Cooking School in holding this special fundraiser is one that Rachel and her team value. When asked about the event Rachael commented that “Everyone at Ray White Paraparaumu takes absolute pleasure in supporting Ronald McDonald House Wellington with this fun and exciting fundraiser.” With a target of raising $3000 they are promoting the upcoming event through their facebook page and an article in the local Kapiti news.
Following on from the Ray White Paraparaumu annual walk through and gift delivery at Ronald McDonald House, the beard shave will be held at 10.30am on Tuesday 17th December. You can show your support for this fantastic charity and help Ronald McDonald House keep up the amazing work for all families that need their support by donating through the Givealittle website.
Rae Beale, Lower North Island Business Performance Manager for Ray White New Zealand, observed of the Paraparaumu ‘shave the beard’ fundraiser “This is a wonderful example of how Ray White members are inventive and enthusiastic at creating many, varied opportunities to raise funds for Ronald McDonald House whenever possible. Well done Rachael, another shining light for Ronald McDonald House.’
