The Lost World

Deep in the valley near Waipu Caves, is a place of outstanding beauty, 120 acres (48.7ha) of lost world. Its title dates back to 1910, well before covenants.

Changing hands for the first time in over 50 years this pristine unspoilt bush-clad wilderness feels "Jurassic". The lush landscape is alive with bird life and packed with natives including Kauri and Rimu. A clear stony bottom river winds through, running all year round, laced with swimming holes for refreshing summer dips.

Hidden away amongst the trees is an old bush cabin from the 70's that once served its owners as a place of refuge. Cocooned by nature in absolute privacy, accessed exclusively via a secret bush track. The cabin is a bit dilapidated these days, but well built nonetheless and salvageable.

The fairytale that once was, can be re-born and deserves to be. In a busy cluttered world where the need to run to a place to shut off and hide is our sanity, this is your escapism in the purest form.
