Metro Fair’ly Ready for School Fundraiser

The Swannanoa community near Christchurch has been organising their annual Country Fair since 1998. It has evolved from a small initiative of a handful of stalls to an amazing annual event, awaited and anticipated by many.

Angela Denny, from Ray White Metro, along with Assistant Rachel King live locally and their daughters attend the Swannanoa school. Angela wanted to get involved with the community and the Swannanoa Country Fair was the perfect event for that. Angela co-sponsored the event and with Rachel’s support prepared and ran a beautiful Ray White stall with competitions and attractive prizes.

The main prize was the Ray White yellow bike which will go to a lucky winner after the draw takes place on the 17th of March. Yellow Ray White rubber duckies proved to have been the perfect entertainment for all little attendees who loved taking part in the games organised by Angela and Rachel. Every tiny guest left with a yellow balloon and a lollipop. Many of them took part in the colouring competition, results of which will be posted to Angela’s Facebook page and the winner will receive $20 to spend at Toy World.

Angela was more than happy with how the day went and is looking forward to supporting the school and the community in the future, ‘Our stall ran like clockwork, we really produced a stall that I was proud to have my name alongside the Ray White brand and in all the yellow glory we could find!’ Angela said. Rachel, also on duty at the Fair, said it was ‘an awesome day, the weather was spectacular and before the fair even started at 10 am we had kids coming over to play the games. All the planning and trial run at putting up the tent paid off. Looking forward to 2018.’

Owen Patterson, Auctioneer for Ray White Metro, stepped in to lead the auctions of the day and was a great success. Owen has collected accolades for the auctions and helped raise $2,340.00 for the auctioned items. Owen said, ‘The fair was probably the biggest and most well-attended country fair I have ever been to, I must say I was quite surprised, they had everything you could imagine for a country fair and then some. The Ray White tent in my mind was the standout at the fair it was bright and had very inviting feel; great job Angela and Rachel.’

The Swannanoa Country Fairs takes place every year in March, in the Swannanoa Domain and has grown into one of the most popular events in the Regional event calendar. Last year the event attracted 8,000 people and raised over $60,000 for the school.
