Describing himself as “a South Auckland boy at heart”, John McCracken, licensee agent and Branch Manager has a long track record of success in real estate sales, leadership, and community service.
“Ultimately selling is what I enjoy doing most. Seeing satisfied clients is the greatest reward….there’s nothing better.”
He has created a close-knit and collaborative culture focused on successful real estate solutions for clients across South Auckland.
Enjoying the archetypal Kiwi upbringing and with Policing in his DNA John joined the Police force after Papatoetoe High School where he’d been head boy and played 1st XV rugby. After ten years on the beat, John was drawn to real estate. He’d built several spec homes, had a huge network of connections, and had an affinity with property as a result of his own personal buying and selling experiences. Since starting out over 25 years ago in the mid-1990s in Hill Park, John has enjoyed the variety of roles within the profession and believes that this has given him a far greater understanding of clients and customers' needs.
Running in tandem with policing and real estate, John has also amassed an outstanding 27 years as an elected representative in local body politics in the South Auckland area. This included Chairman and Board member on the Otara-Papatoetoe Local Board and serving on Auckland’s Unitary Plan Working Party.
John gets immense satisfaction from seeing delighted clients achieving their real estate goals and in particular first home buyers taking that all important first step of home ownership.
His own real estate business has benefitted from a vast network of contacts from a number of strands of his working and personal life. Well-known in the district for his involvement with sports coaching, local body politics and equestrian sport with his family he is well-connected to the community.
