Double delight as Ray White Ponsonby in-room auctions return

Buyers last night warmly welcomed the return of Ray White Ponsonby in-room auctions with socially-distanced open arms as two out of two properties sold under the hammer to the tune of NZ$2,985,000 for a 100 per cent clearance rate.
 
“You could tell that buyers were pleased to be back in the in-room environment – the energy between bidders and agents was excellent,” said Ray White New Zealand Auctioneer Ben East (pictured above), who called both auctions successfully.
 
“Anyone thinking of bringing their property to the market just needs to look at the competition generated at one of our auctions – there’s no doubt it’s a seller’s market right now.

“Our buyer pool is really deep. Both our enquiry numbers and open home attendance figures are showing an upward trajectory as confidence continues to flow.”

The biggest sale of the night came at the hands of Ray White Ponsonby Salespeople Matt Johnson and Elaine Ferguson, who sold 27 Landing Road (pictured above) in Titirangi for NZ$2,200,000.
 
“We went on the market 10 days before Alert Level 4 lockdown and initially kept it on the market to try to get a deal done with the interested buyers that had seen the property – but it wasn’t to be and we decided to pull the property and relaunch later,” Mr Johnson said.
 
“We waited until a week into Alert Level 3 and kick-started a new auction campaign and the enquiry numbers were excellent with private inspections also proving popular.
 
“This deal is a testament to the strength of the market. We had three registered buyers on the night and competition was strong – it’s a great time to be selling your property.
 
“The winning buyer couple actually came through the property before Alert Level 4, so that tells us people are willing to do whatever it takes to secure the right property for them.”

The other sale of the night saw Ray White Ponsonby Salesperson Angela Saunders manage a NZ$785,000 deal for 2B/220 Victoria Street West (pictured above) in Freemans Bay.
 
“The energy in the market since coming out of Alert Level 4, and then into Alert Level 2, has been really something. You can definitely feel confidence coming back,” Ms Saunders said.
 
“This property attracted strong interest and great numbers through private inspections and the open homes – it’s a sign of buyers and sellers wanting to get deals done now.
 
“Potential sellers should take this deal as a barometer of the success they could achieve if they came to market now and took advantage of our deep buyer pool.”
