Community: Warkworth supporting Wellsford Hospice

Ray White - Hospice BagLast week Ken Bogue, business owner of Ray White Warkworth was invited to a function hosted by the Warkworth Wellsford Hospice to thank him for his years of support and continued sponsorship to their organisation. Ray White Warkworth and Ray White Snells Beach have sponsored and helped to organise the Hospice Homes Tour in our area since 2006 which has raised thousands of dollars.  Last years the Home Tour alone raised $16,000.00.  Customised Ray White ‘Hospice Homes Tour’ signs are used to direct supporters to individual properties and the Ray White marquee is used at one of the properties where attendees can have lunch or Devonshire teas.

All attendees are issued with a ‘Hospice-pink’ carry-bag branded by Ray White and with the Hospice logo, to place their shoes in while viewing properties. Ken commented “I had a very personal experience with our local Hospice some years ago when a young family member spent their last 2 weeks at home, finally passing away in our lounge surrounded by family. It was an intense period, beginning on boxing day, and the support and care that nursing staff of Hospice gave above expectations. They were so generous with their care that when they approached me some years later with the idea of having a local  Hospice Homes Tour, to raise funds, I jumped at the opportunity to give something back to them.” The whole team bought into something to the project, and continue to do so; it’s a lot of planning and organising, especially getting different homes each time, The day of the tour is long and tiring but the satisfaction is very rewarding.
