Since 2001 Ray White Prier Manson Real Estate have been sponsoring Redcliffs School with the end of term book awards for each of the school syndicates as well as contributing to the salary of a Reading Recovery teacher. This has made a significant difference for families where a Reading Recovery teacher is required to assist with children who sometimes need a bit of hand-up with their reading.
The syndicate books awards are given to children who are recognised for their efforts in displaying the theme for the term. For example the theme for Term 2 this year was “excellence”. Students from each syndicate were awarded a Book Prize for their efforts whether it be for school work, a cultural or sports activity or their attitude to school life in general.
The Prier Manson team also help out each year at the auction of goods held at the Redcliffs School Fair.
In addition to their involvement with Redcliffs School, Prier Manson Real Estate have helped with books and computers at Sumner School, books and awards at Mt Pleasant School as well as assisting with the Mt Pleasant School Art Auction and Exhibition.
On the sporting front, Prier Manson have had a long association with both the Redcliffs Bowls Club and the Mt Pleasant Bowls Club. As a result of the earthquake these two clubs have now combined to form the Redcliffs Mt Pleasant Bowls Club. Each year Prier Manson sponsors two bowls tournaments, have supplied members with jackets and have assisted with fundraising auctions.
On the water, Prier Manson Real Estate have been the major sponsor of the Christchurch Yacht Club Sprint Series. This is a unique low-tide series of races held throughout the summer on the lower reaches of the Christchurch Estuary. It is a fiercely fought event with sailors coming from many of the other local clubs to compete for the coveted prize of Sprint Series Champion.
In terms of fundraising, Craig Prier’s auctioneering skills are called on throughout the year to assist with charity auctions, whether it be small events at the local kindergarten or rugby club or major citywide events such as the Cancer Society Ball.
