Community – Port Road Gallery Supported by Ray White Whangamata

Queen’s Birthday weekend is significant for the beachside town of Whangamata, it’s still an active time for sales and it marks the last holiday before winter sets in. This year Ray White Whangamata supported the ‘Port Rd Galley’ who held an exciting new concept exhibition titled “Black, White and One other”. On Saturday, 1st of June the exhibition opening saw around 80 keen residents, bach owners and holidaymakers.

Gallery owner Christina Scurr introduced prominent local artist Kate Madill Jones who spoke about the artists and their work. There was a real ‘buzz’ going on as we viewed the various works, glasses of wine in hand. Trish Morrison, owner of Ray White Whangamata, was particularly attracted to the exhibition signature piece, ‘The Block’ by John Staniford. Trish commented “It was a work we just couldn’t resist. It had a very strong ‘Ray White’ synergy, it’s about standing out from the others, building something special and it was all in our colours, brilliant!

“This is an event that we are proud to have sponsored, it attracted an enthusiastic and discerning crowd that care about their homes and how they live. Our involvement and the exhibition has been a ‘win win’ for both Ray White and our vibrant Whangamata community.”
