The Ray White New Zealand group results for January 2020 saw a strong increase in the sales value in comparison to 12 months ago. After a record sales month in December 2019 which saw prices increase; the median sales price again lifted, with the average sale price now being $689,216. The overall sales numbers for January resulted in 988 residential sales which gave a total released turnover of $638 million. The total number of controlled listings increased by 5% to 1,417. The difference between the sales and listing numbers showed a better than average group portfolio increase of 3.5%. In comparison to January 2019, the sales volume increased by 17%.
Carey Smith, Chief Executive of Ray White New Zealand said, “The January results flowed on from an exceptionally strong finish to the 2019 year. Seasonally, January is a month where new properties begin to come onto the market and this year campaigns have started earlier than traditionally. The depth of buyers is strong and home affordability continues to rise on the backend of lowering interest rates.”
The result for our top business – Ray White Wellington City – was their best January on record. Ray White Manukau completed 37 sales. Ray White Whangarei in Northland also had a strong month, settling transactions above $16 million. Ray White Hutt City in the Wellington Region was number four in our Group; with Ray White Remuera completing back-to-back strong months.
The results for January 2020 saw two offices complete a personal best in turnover, being Ray White Tauranga Commercial and, in Canterbury, Ray White Halswell.
Throughout the regional areas of New Zealand. In Northland, Ray White Whangarei featured as one of the leading offices. Ray White Kaitaia and Ray White Mangawhai both had a successful month. In Auckland; Ray White Manukau was the leading office, with Ray White Remuera, Ray White Howick and Ray White City Apartments completing strong sales months. In the Central North Island, Ray White Te Awamutu had an outstanding sales month, completing $15.2 million. Ray White Tauranga Commercial had a personal best, and Ray White Hamilton recorded a strong sales month. In the Lower North, Ray White Hutt City recorded $18.6 million in sales. Ray White Kemeys – Petone had another outstanding month, as did Ray White Masterton. In the Wellington region, the Ray White Wellington City office was recognised as the top business in the country. Ray White Kilbirnie and Ray White Khandallah also achieved above-average sales in January. The Upper South Island saw Ray White Richmond as the standout office. In Canterbury, Ray White Rolleston and Ray White Riccarton were the top businesses, recording strong sales months. In the Lower South Island, Ray White Wanaka was the top sales business for Ray White in the region; while Ray White Invercargill and Ray White Arrowtown also had a high number of sales for the month of January.

Ray White continues to increase its property management appointments across New Zealand, with the company now having 17,923 properties under management.
