In front of 500 Ray White members Theresa Gattung, well known business women and author of the book “Bird of the Wire,” presented her enthralling story to our members at our national conference. Theresa was appointed CEO of Telecom, New Zealand’s largest listed company at the age of 37 and is the only woman to have headed up a major publicly listed company in New Zealand. Theresa has also been named on four occasions by Fortune magazine as one of the 50 most powerful women in business internationally. Theresa’s message to the Ray White members covered her stellar career and looked at the outcomes that are needed to have an exhilarating career in any field chosen. Her speech focused on determination, innovation and she described how she works with the 3 words, Be, Have and Do.
Theresa shared great insights into leadership and marketing and also reflected on the interplay between business and politics. Carey Smith, New Zealand Chief Executive said that “Theresa’s comments were particularly apt for our members. Theresa is inspirational and her particular comments on growing pains, the big issues and the ups and down of business and personal life was perfect.”
