Tegan Ferrier from Ray White Property Management Works in Dunedin has become the first person in New Zealand to register and complete the New Zealand Certificate in Residential Property Management (Level 4 – Property Manager) through The Skills Organisation.
The qualification covers a broad range of property management disciplines – from marketing a property to managing disputes and completing rental appraisals.
Tegan said “The qualification is perfect for a new entrant to the industry looking to further their knowledge and credibility, plus it was a good challenge!”
Bruce and Denise Robinson, the business owners of Property Management Works, have enrolled all of their staff into the new qualification. Bruce’s reasons as to why he has chosen to do this are so that “We will have a team of qualified people that gives us a level of credibility and professionalism that the competition just won’t have.”
Even though the qualification is currently optional, Ben Thomson, Property Management Performance Manager for Ray White, encourages all property managers to work towards this qualification – “At Ray White we need to rise above the perceived mediocrity in the property management industry. One of the ways we can do this is through education and it would be great to see a higher level of education throughout the Ray White property management network.”
