Delightful dozen as Ray White Gisborne hammers home $10M

Ray White Gisborne has celebrated a delightful dozen of under the hammer sales for their sellers as 12 properties sold at an in-room auction event for a combined $10.085 million.

It has been an outstanding start to the year for the office and innovative internal auction data showed an auction day clearance rate of 86 per cent at the in-room event.

Ray White New Zealand COO and Auctioneer Daniel Coulson (above), who called all 12 properties successfully under the hammer, said the level of interest in the properties offered reflected the confidence in the Gisborne market at present.

“The prices that are being achieved by owners that market their property for sale by auction are regularly setting records,” Mr Coulson said.

“While the market in Gisborne at present is buoyant, a well-planned and more importantly, a well-executed strategy is still crucial in maximising the potential sale price of your home. These auctions were a great representation of that.

“The transparency that auctions provide allows both buyers and sellers to make sound decisions and many owners were able to capitalise on premium prices as well as a cash unconditional sale.”

The highest sale of the day belonged to Ray White Gisborne Director and Salesperson Shelley Donaldson as she sold 14 Pohutukawa Drive (above) in Lytton West for $1.435 million.

“It’s definitely the strength of the auction market in Gisborne right now and the three of us as new owners are used to running big auction days,” Ms Donaldson said.

“While it was always our goal to show our strength as an experienced auction team and create a buzz around our auction days, we didn’t expect to receive so much positive feedback and support so quickly. This in-turn led to a flurry of listings in a varied and unpredictable market.

“To ensure we’re providing our sellers with an opportunity to secure the best sale price, along with ensuring buyers enjoy an open and transparent purchasing process, the only method of sale to achieve this is via an auction campaign.

“Locals are used to this sales process and seem to value our region the most, and this was evident with the 12 successful under the hammer outcomes, that were all to local buyers.

“You also can’t under-estimate having an award-winning auctioneer in Daniel being part of the process and then calling the auction on the day. It’s fantastic our sellers have access to this.”
