Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC®) is a cause close to the heart of the whole Ray White network, with a partnership extending over ten years. This relationship stretches further than simply donations, with hands-on participation and involvement from offices throughout the country from cook nights in the houses and National Appeal weeks, to the Annual Red Shoe Ball.
On Wednesday, 7 March 2018 Rotorua held their 9th annual Supper Club, which was attended by 350 guests that raised $138,000 that goes directly toward the Family Retreat based in Rotorua. This provides holiday accommodation free of charge for families affected by a child long-term illness or a bereavement. It also provides funds for the wider Ronald McDonald House Programme that helps to support families with children in the hospital away from home.
Ronald McDonald House Charity Supper Clubs are held in various locations throughout the country. The Rotorua began with a cocktail party at the Novotel Lakeside before heading off to their mystery restaurant for the evening. One of the many highlights of the night was the impressive live auction run by auctioneer James Alexander from Ray White Rotorua. James auctioned off a number of high profile items sourced by the organising committee, alongside a $10,000 off a standard commission house sale provided by Ray White.
It was a fantastic night of great entertainment, impressive auctions, outstanding food and a heartfelt family story from the Tamihere family who have been staying in the Ronald McDonald House for the past four years; reminding everybody that they had helped give families with a hospitalised child what they needed most, each other.
Following the cocktail party guests departed to local Mystery Restaurants throughout Rotorua. Rachel Harris from Ray White Rotorua 400 created goodie bags for the guests to take home. One of the Mystery Restaurants was under the Ray White marquee set in the middle of the park at the International Rotorua Stadium. The wait staff were the Women’s Bay of Plenty Volcanix team wearing their rugby jerseys and faces painted. Guests were entertained by a local solo singer while they enjoyed their dinner into the night.
