Ray White Papatoetoe supports stockcar duo

Ted Ingram

Ray White Papatoetoe Principal Ted Ingram never gets tired of seeing Ray White 16A circling the race track. Ted has been sponsoring the Ministock cars for two years which is a full family affair.

Stockcars have always been a passion for Ted, racing competitively in the 70’s in an array of cars. Of late, you’ll find Ted under the bonnet rebuilding a late model V8 Corvette for next season which he will race next year. Ted’s son David previously raced stock cars but now builds cars and looks after his sons, Tyler and Zac – Ted’s grandsons.

In mid-February there were two back to back competitions, Ministock in Paradise series at Rotorua’s Paradise Valley Speedway. Cars from all over New Zealand were racing with a large crowd watching. The Ray White sponsored car did extremely well, driven by Tyler Ingram (13 years old). Tyler is in his second year of racing and steadily improved to the point where he won the Junior title of the Ministock in Paradise event. He was number one over both nights, accumulating points and surpassing everyone else in this event. Tyler was presented with the Champions trophy at the meet, ecstatic to say the least, with a smile from ear to ear.

Tyler’s brother Zac (10 years old) started racing recently, taking after his big brother. Zac had his first win in his second race in Waharoa a dirt track just out of Matamata. Both Tyler and Zac are driving Ray White cars on the track, Ted says, ‘the Ray White cars stand out so much on the track, they’re so crisp and clean, I am so proud watching them race’. Ted is currently getting his new car trailer branded with Ray White as well as yellow overalls tailor made for him for when he races next season.
