Last month marked the fourth annual charity golf tournament held by Ray White Whangamata. Locals and bach owners from right across the region came together in an effort to raise money for Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) whilst having a fun day out.
RMHC is New Zealand’s premier family charity, providing free accommodation and support for Kiwi families who need to travel to receive specialist hospital treatment for their child. In this spirit of togetherness the tournament was played in ambrose style – with the team picking the best shot amongst them. And the best shot not just of the team but also of the day was Jill Agnew’s hole in one – congratulations Jill!
The tournament auction has become a highlight of the social calendar since it began in 2013, with this year’s event raising a record high of over $11,000 for RMHC and $2,000 for St John Whangamata.
Such result would not be possible without the hard work and dedication from the team at Ray White Whangamata and all the generous sponsors and players on the day. Ray White Whangamata office owners Steve and Trish Morrison understand the importance of the work that RMHC does for families in their community. Last year alone RMHC housed a record 274 families from the Waikato district, many of whom come from the Thames Coromandel region.
