Ray White Golden Bay hold Pink Ribbon Breakfast

Pink ribbon

Recently, Billy Kerrisk and her team at Ray White Golden Bay held an annual Pink Ribbon Breakfast with a goal of raising $5,000 for The New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation. They teamed up with Ratanui Lodge to make the morning bigger and better than ever before. Together, with the help of many generous local businesses, individuals and people who came along for the morning, that goal was greatly surpassed with a grand total of $7,666.70.

Steve, Peter and the team at Ratanui Lodge had set the scene with elegant table settings, a stunning array of breakfast treats and impeccable service. The staff had volunteered their time and all food, coffee, and drinks were donated by suppliers which meant 100% of the proceeds from the ticket sales could go directly to the cause.

From the beginning of advertising in April, donations for the auction and raffle had been rolling in, from; helicopter rides, power tools, horse riding to dining vouchers, artwork, books, and clothing. There was an item for everyone, which made for some exciting bidding in the auction room. 47 items went under the hammer, Billy was pushing them out loud and fast, creating competition with the bidders to get the best results. Fresh new arrivals in the Golden Bay community put in a winning bid of $700.00 which is the highest single donation ever received. They won a helicopter ride with Reid Helicopters in Nelson, to take a scenic flight around the region before stopping for a coffee 5,000ft above sea level on Mt Starveall and take in the stunning views, while getting to know their new region to call home. This helicopter ride was generously donated by Stacey Trewavas in loving memory of her mother Trish, who recently passed away from a long battle with breast cancer. Stacey proved invaluable to the success of the morning. Her hard work and dedication to the cause saw her regularly dropping into the Ray White office with newly donated items that she had drummed up from businesses around the Bay and offering support and encouragement to the team along the way.

Billy and her team would like to extend their gratitude to everyone who supported their 2016 Pink Ribbon Breakfast, they look forward to making the 2017 Pink Ribbon Breakfast another great success.
