‘The Locals’ host Landlord Information Evening

Landlord-information

Ray White Kingsland recently held a Landlords Information Evening for their clients. The team invited a range of guest speakers and had anticipated holding the event in their offices, however as numbers grew, they soon discovered they would have to host the event in larger premises.

Close to 50 people attended the event – which was held at a cafe across the road from the Ray White Kingsland office. Guest speakers included Account and Tax Specialist, Stephen Tsang from Withers Tsang & Co who covered ‘Planning for Profit’, and the new tax rules for property owners that came into effect on 1 October.

Lance Spalding, Business Manager of Pinkfit Insulation then brought everyone up to speed on insulation standards which will be required for all investment properties from 2019. He explained a range of insulation options suitable to met these new standards, and funding options available to landlords.

John Schumacher, from LoanMarket discussed how landlords could leverage their current properties to finance future rental purchases. He then went on to explain the impact of new lending restrictions and reserve bank rules.

Fellow speaker, Fraser Coombes from Ray White Hamilton made a presentation on ‘Thinking Outside the Square’ highlighting, and educating investors on investment properties out of area. “Some might say why encourage our clients to purchase investments in Hamilton, but it’s about education and opportunities… if they are considering purchasing outside Auckland we want our customers to be well informed, and of course would prefer to put them in contact with another Ray White office to look after them.” says Nikki Bennett, Ray White Kingsland’s Property Management Business Manager who organised the event.

“We believe that customer service is about continuously adding value for our clients. One way to do this is to keep investors up to date with information on any changes in the market and opportunities to grow wealth. Therefore the goal of our investor’s evening was ‘awareness’ – to educate our past and present clients as well as the community on current topical subjects, and to show that we are a progressive company that knows and understands the market.”

Feedback surveys sent out after the event indicated a positive response from all who attended, with some customers already asking when the next evening would be held. Comments such as “great that it was information not a sales pitch” have delighted the Ray White Kinglsand team – who have now decided to run a second Landlord Information Evening in April next year. – Contact the office for more information.
