Ray White Papatoetoe recently held a charity auction raising funds for the local Foodbank.
The South Auckland Christian Foodbank set up by Ian Foster runs with the help of 40 part timers and volunteers and feeds over 450 people a week. As well as providing food parcels the Foodbank also provides people access to a budgeting specialist.
Foster says running a charity isn’t easy and they need all the help they can get.
Ray White Papatoetoe saw the good work being done and decided to run a charity auction as part of their Mid-Winter Client Function.
The team saw great support for the initiative from Realestate.co.nz and TradeMe who donated advertising packages which created some fierce bidding competition between salespeople. Gift baskets were also provided from Todd Dixon from Kiwibank and Ashok from AAK Signs, along with shopping vouchers from Loan Market and printing and advertising packages from Open2view and Real Estate Printers.
The office salespeople also put up mystery gift baskets and had wonderful support from ANZ who donated a whole lot of spot prizes with not many going home empty handed.
All in all the auction raised over $2,300 for the Foodbank, which the office then matched dollar for dollar, bumping the total donation to $4,680.
An amazing effort from the team at Ray White Papatoetoe, sales manager John McCracken says he’s proud to support someone who’s making such a big difference to the people of South Auckland.
