Ryan Dixon of Ray White Remuera recently sold the historic Onehunga Post Shop at 120 Onehunga Mall.
The Category 2 Heritage Building was built circa 1900 and is an amazing example of Edwardian architecture. The 400sqm building features a 4 bedroom apartment on the top floor with Columbus Coffee cafe downstairs.
The property was sold via tender after a four week marketing campaign that utilised a broad range of marketing channels across both print and online media. With print marketing featuring an editorial in the New Zealand Herald, plus advertising in the New Zealand Herald Homes and Commercials sections along with the Property Press. Online the property was featured in Trade Me’s Cool Auctions section, with combined TradeMe, Realestate.co.nz and Ray White websites gaining over 27,000 views online.
Of the sale, Ryan Dixon said “It is not surprising to see more unique properties come to the market due to the depth of buyers looking to purchase and vendors looking to capitalise on favourable market conditions. Opportunities like this asset are always going to be highly sought after due to the attributes it offers and high-profile position.”
The eventual purchaser of the property was more than happy with the result and the was that Ryan conducted the sales process, saying “My perception of real estate salespeople has always been that they are working for themselves in the first instance and for the vendor in the second instance. The buyer comes in at an unlucky and distant third. Following a recent transaction in which all parties involved were delighted with the outcome, I’m pleased to say that Ryan Dixon has turned that perception on its head. The property I purchased is a family trust investment that will fund our retirement in years to come and provide substantial security for our children’s future. I am indebted to Ryan for helping us acquire it.”
