500 stories and five years later

Online

May 2014 marked a milestone for Ray White Online with the Raywhiteonline.co.nz blog celebrating it’s fifth anniversary.

The Ray White blog, Raywhiteonline.co.nz, was primarily developed as a communication to our broader Ray White members, those who were interested in the progress of the Ray White Group as well as customers and clients.

The site first came into the online space in May 2009, during the global financial crisis – so it was not surprising that the first story ever posted was about the change in real estate market conditions.  At this time, as there still is today, the relevance of communicating performance, results, strategy and community involvement form the nucleus of the Raywhiteonline content. Five years on the site holds over 500 stories and has been an platform whereby we can recognise our new offices, Elite and Foundation members while also bringing together stories of community involvement together with writings from our Ray White New Zealand Chief Executive, Carey Smith.

Keith Ashkettle, head of Ray White New Zealand technology, said that in terms of a blogging platform Raywhiteonline.co.nz has received over 10,000 likes and stories have been read and the site viewed over 25,000 times. “We have successfully been able to utilise the site for real time stories and to acknowledge our community associations together with business partnerships. In 2012 we added our own Ray White News application (available on Android and Apple) which has added a further dimension to the mobility of the site by allowing visitors real time mapping, information in respect of residential listings and also contact details for each of the Ray White member offices.”
